Every year, hundreds of animals are used in the film industry by production companies, and called ‘animal actors’. Some of the best films ever made use animals, and it’s a pleasure to watch them on screen. There are laws in place to ensure that these animals are not harmed, and welfare organisations carefully monitor the well-being and handling of the creatures.

                                                                             Or do they?

One of the leading production companies, Century Fox have instructed their  legal team to try to find ways to keep one man, with an army of supporters quiet. Why? …because Fox has blood on their hands, and Roland Vincent knows why!

While working as an extra on the set of the new film ‘My Friend Flicka‘, Roland witnessed the sickening death of a horse which was tripped up by the rope dragging behind it as it ran terrified from wranglers chasing a group of horses around a pen. When the horse got caught up in the lines, it fell broke its neck and was kicked in the head by another horse. There is no question the animal died in agony. All to catch a sensational “wild horse race” scene.

When Roland confronted the American Humane Association, who were present on set (to ensure the safety of the animals!) he was informed that it wasn’t abuse if it wasn’t illegal.
The American Humane Association admitted that another horse had also died a week earlier. Production wasn’t shut down, and filming resumed the next day.

Legally, animal handlers require a special permit for using the horses, but the handler for Flicka failed to do this also. It’s obvious that Fox failed these animals in many ways, they also failed to notify the city of their deaths, and offered $1250 to Roland per horse so keep his mouth shut.
Bad move there Fox, Vincent is a horse lover, cares about the treatment towards these magnificent animals and is a lawyer himself.

The purpose of this campaign is to make Fox accountable for their actions, to admit they made a mistake and make changes to the way they handle animals.
Roland Vincent has declared from the start “ Our goal is to make it so expensive for Fox that they never harm or endanger an animal again, and to put the film industry on notice that animal abuse will not be tolerated!”

You can get more information on the campaign at the web address below, or alternatively the contact details. Every voice counts in this campaign, and yours will make it even louder. Don’t let Fox get away with murder, they may be a huge company, but they are still responsible for their actions.

For the love of horses, justice and human compassion - the world unites.
