I marvel at the stupidity of this company!

Didn't Fox figure out that their target audience for Flicka would include people who loved animals and cared about horses?

Didn't Fox think those same people would mind the fact that Fox killed two horses to make the film Flicka?

Didn't they think we talked to each other and would do something about it?

Just think what they could have done (if they had a lick of common sense!):

They could have apologized!

They could have promised to never again endanger animals in the making of a film!

They could have made donations to horse rescue organizations!

They could have opposed horse slaughter!

They would have been heroes!

BUT THEY ARE CALLOUS, ANIMAL ABUSING BASTARDS!

And we are going to cost them millions of dollars!

When we are done, no Hollywood studio is going to want to risk pissing us off! Animals will be treated with care and respect, and Fox is going to be very sorry!

We are costing Fox $Millions!

The Boycott Flicka campaign limited Flicka box office receipts to $7.7 million on opening weekend.

Fox had reportedly expected to earn $8 million on Flicka for the weekend, taking into account the boycott.  Now I have learned that Fox actually expected receipts of $10 million, and planned to announce that the boycott had no effect whatsoever when the gross exceeded $8 million!

Using the $8 million figure admitted to by Fox, the boycott will have cost Fox a minimum of $1.2 million!  That is because the rule of thumb in the industry is that first weekend box office is about one quarter of total receipts a film will receive.  In that case the actual gross being $300,000 less than Fox expected translates to almost one and a quarter million dollars in lost revenues!

If the information I received from a Fox employee is correct, and Fox expected to rake in $10 million on opening weekend, lost revenue for the opening amounted to $2.7. Over the run of the film the loss of revenues to Fox will be over TEN MILLION DOLLARS!

Anyway you look at it, whether it is $1.2 million or $10 million, we will have won!

As this takes into acount the full run of the movie, it also means we need to keep spreading the word until Flicka is out of the theatres!

Our little band of 2300 Friends has done serious damage to one of the biggest Hollywood companies!  We've shown how effective we can be with no money spent on ads and only our dedication carrying us along!

We will have made a difference, because no film production company is going to want to be our target in the future!  Animals lives will be spared and changes will be made.  You can bank on it!

To each and every person who helped and is still helping, you are the heroes of this campaign!   Without you I am just a cowboy with a keyboard.  Together we are a force that rocked Hollywood!

Special kudos are due Natasha Johnstone of Newcastle, UK, our website/design guru. Without her tireless assistance I would have foundered early on!  Thanks, Tasha!
